DESCRIPTION:The MWR&BC Proudly Presents \nSTOMPIN DAVE & LUCY PIPER Electric Blues Duo… \n \nLive at The Brecon Tap \nStompin’ Dave Electric Duo \nYou might not have had the chance to see Dave in action\, but many consider him one of the most exciting\, energetic\, and entertaining musicians on the current live music scene. Based in Bridport\, Dorset\, Stompin’ Dave was nominated for a UK Blues Award 2024. \n“In other parts of the world they have cyclones\, tornados\, and hurricanes\, in the UK we have Stompin’ Dave. Dave is a phenomenal artist…A great guitar player and vocalist and accomplished songwriter…he is also an outstanding dancer… ” Blues In The South. A prolific artist in the studio\, Dave is a former member of former UK Blues Band of the Year The Producers. Dave has consistently given over one hundred performances per year across the UK and beyond\, including many major festivals such as Glastonbury\, Camp Bestival\, and Bestival. “Let’s face it\, in adding the quality of his original material the man is a downright genius” Blues In Britain. \nWith his song-writing Dave has engulfed himself in the masters of American roots music\, remained true\, but managed to produce “not…a sound of yesteryear that should be in a museum but real\, modern and relevant that should be heard live” Blues Matters. \nAlmost always joining Dave in this line-up is Lucy Piper on drums “one of the UK’s leading blues drummers” The Guardian. Residing in Exeter\, Devon\, Lucy is the daughter of the late blues guitarist Julian Piper widely acknowledged as leading UK authority on blues. Julian played guitar on Lazy Lester’s 1987 album Rides Again which won a Blues Music Award. Universally recognized as the highest award in blues music. \nIn 2019 and 2020 Lucy worked with double Grammy Award winning Ruf Records on their annual ‘Blues Caravan’. As well as appearing on USA based Ryan Perry’s album High Risk\, Low Reward which was nominated for a Blues Music Award 2020. \nLucy and Dave have been performing regularly together since 2022 with many appearances at various festivals and art centres. 2024 performances included Gloucester Blues Festival\, and Congleton Jazz & Blues Festival\, Cheshire\, as well as making their first major festival appearance at Wilderness Festival\, Oxfordshire. In 2025 the duo made appearances at York Blues Festival\, Upton Blues Festival\, The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival\, Lancashire and many others! \nDave and Lucy have currently released five albums together. “The sound is authentic\, with a richness that’s as good as any of the best blues albums.” Blues In Britain. “Great guitar work\, fine singing and authentic lyrics and melodies.” Blues In The South. “Here’s two fabulous musicians delivering a record that deserves huge recognition\, a modern blues album rooted nicely indeed in the traditions of the past.” Blues In Britain. \n\nhttps://stompindave.com/\n\nhttps://lucypiperdrums.com/\n\nwww.midwalesrandb.club

SUMMARY:MWR&BC & Brecon Folk Club Presents STEVE FERBRACHE (Solo) with SGA DON'T TELL JOHNNY (Trio)...
DESCRIPTION:LIVE MUSIC AT THE MUSE IN BRECON: \nFolk and blues join forces once again on Sunday 8th Feb \, as the MWR&BC team up with our friends from Brecon Folk & More Club for a return show with STEVE FERBRACHE this time supported by Chepstow / South Wales based DON’T TELL JOHNNY. \nSTEVE FERBRACHE is well known and loved in Brecon as the lead singer of THE ACHIEVERS\, who have given us three unforgettable nights of top-class musical entertainment in recent years. \nPerforming once again as a solo artist\, Steve is a man with a mission… to give expression to his impressive back-catalogue of self-penned songs – and perhaps exorcise a few of the demons that inspired them along the way… all of this delivered in his usual good-humoured and charmingly amusing manner. \nIn a solo context\, you can appreciate more clearly the quality of his song-writing. Right from the outset\, the remarkable intelligence and sensitivity of his lyrics is breath-taking. \nSteve’s soulful voice and delicate guitar accompaniment provide a perfect vehicle for his songs. \nSee a full review of his gig with us last February via this link. \nhttp://midwalesrandb.club/2025/02/02/steve-ferbrache-plus-hermione-wild/ \nFor more details. \nhttps://steveferbrache.com/ \n \nDON’T TELL JOHNNY are a popular acoustic folk band from South Wales that play a range of styles from Blues to Americana\, covering songs by Tom Waits to Gillian Welch\, along with a few original compositions. Their music combines touching\, emotional vocals and harmonies\, beautiful finger picked guitar and soaring fiddle lines to evoke a range of memorable moods and feelings. \nFormed in 2011\, DON’T TELL JOHNNY is the perfect choice for quality live music with a difference for pub evenings\, parties\, weddings and other special occasions. \nSamantha Brown – Lead Vocals\nTim Brown – Vocals\, Violin\, Guitar\nJon Marsden – Vocals\, Guitar \nDon’t Tell Johnny featured in the May 2016 issue of ‘Acoustic Magazine’ with a small article on their music.
